Lemmings are small rodents found in the Arctic regions of our planet. They are members of the rodentia class of animals, which represents 40% of all mammals on earth. Small rodents, like the lemming, are among the earliest warm-blooded animals on our planet and they have survived since the mammalian beginning by being resourceful and proactive.
There are many myths and misconceptions about lemmings. They've been reported to fall from the sky and to follow each other blindly into the sea committing mass suicide. In 1991 a video game Lemmings was created--the objective to save the poor furry creature from en masse self-destruction.
These myths are simply not true. In fact it's quite the opposite.
Large groups of Lemmings gather and migrate when their existing community becomes over-populated and under resourced. Why do they leave their community, family, and friends and look to settle elsewhere? Common sense tells scientists lemmings anticipate the potential lack of food, shelter, and resources. Instinctively lemmings know if they stay, the existence of their community is threatened and will not survive. Therefore, pro-actively they pack-up and leave.
What do lemmings have to do with technology, web development, integration, and business growth? A lot!
Is your organization like the mythical lemming mindlessly following the pack into dangerous and potentially fatal consequences? Or are you like the real lemming leaving your comfort zone to survive?
At Tortus we're lemming lovers and want to see you survive! Contact us today to see how we can help at www.tortus.com or call us at 413-788-5080.
