Newspaper Circulation in Decline

More trouble for newspapers and magazines in the most recent circulation figures. The Audit Bureau of Circulations has reported that from March-September 2007 the the NYTimes circulation fell 8%, the Washington Post dropped 4%, and the L.A. Times dipped 5%. Annualizing the lost circulation the NYTimes is losing circulation at a 16% per year pace!

Radio Ad revenues drop 7%!

Compared to 2006 September radio-advertising revenues are down 7%. This is alarming since industry experts expected only a 1% drop and 2006 was considered an easy benchmark to beat. Where did this spending go?

House and Garden Magazine gone!

December 2007 is the last issue of the venerable century old House and Garden magazine. During 2007, 12 other magazines have also ceased publishing in 2007. Why?
